Position : Registered Nurse
POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care provided to a group of patients. This nurse leads the nursing team members in the care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers in accordance with the philosophy and policies of Insight. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family, physician, and employee satisfaction. Ensures decisions made are based on a patient- and family-centered care philosophy utilizing evidence-based practices and focused on safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
Scope of Service: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral,
social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The Registered Nurse functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of their designated state for which they are practicing in addition to compliance with any of the hospitals accrediting bodies.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care for specified patients, including appropriate supportive care and plans and executes care plans for patients exhibiting skin complications
- Performs nursing assessments and triage of patient care needs for new and ongoing patients.
- Provides education to patients, families, and significant others; acts as an information resource to students, health care professionals, patients, and the public.
- Documenting and photographing skin treatments required for reimbursement.
- Provides family support as required, including applicable referrals.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvement objectives; and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- May train and guide other nursing and support staff engaged in clinical activities; may participate in research and related activities.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
- Current licensure in the State of Michigan.
- BLS is required for all RN positions.
- Complete WCC (Wound Care Certification) certification within 2 years of hire.
Special equipment, skills or other requirements:
- BLS certification within six months of employment.
- Certification preferred, but required within 2 years.
